Pass the environment variable to the smtpd daemon

Hi all.
Can you please tell me how to pass an environment variable (like 
SSLKEYLOGFILE) to the smtpd daemon ? Maybe as an alternative, if the 
master process can't allow this, there are examples of running smtpd 
directly from systemd ?
