The symbol var_compat_level exists only in Postfix 3.0 .. 3.5.
Viktor is right: you cannot mix Postfix programs and libraries from
different Postfix versions.
If fact it's worse: you can't mix Postfix programs and libraries
from different Postfix builds, even if they are built from the same
Postfix source.
