An almost-perfect example just occurred as I was about to start this
message. I had Nero Showtime in it's normal window setting behind
this screen as I started to write this message. I paused to run my
test alarm, and suddenly the Nero window plopped itself right in
front of Eudora just as the alarm window opened (upper right).

Testing again: this window has focus, and alarm trigger is imminent.
Test message fired, Nero window popped up over this one, taking focus
away as well.

At this (and that) moment 2 windows are minimized to the tray.

I have closed Nero completely for test #3: focus here as before.
Another program chosen at random (an explorer-like util called
X2Explorer) and it was behind this screen. When the test alarm fired,
the X2 explorer window popped in front of this one.

Repeating test, this time with 2X minimized to task bar. Same as above.

Another test, but after warm system boot: normal Nero window behind
this one. Alarm window opens with sound as before, Nero window pops
in front. I made sure I was typing at the moment the alarm triggered
and focus was pulled from here to (presumably) Nero.

Tried same test with an Explorer window behind this one. It likewise
got pulled to the top along with the alarm window.

Anyway, I'm open to suggestions. This could all be some weird
interaction impossible to duplicate anywhere except here... :-)

Cheers,
Tom
