Explorer, Notepad, and Paint were opened, in that order, normal windows all. Test #1: exactly as per your instructions, window states unchanged. Test #2: (set for copy of alarm in 5 min): I'm tying this into notepad. Your test isn't really a good test because at almost no time am I using the computer without SOME window having focus. Paint is behind this window as I type. A regularly scheduled alarm will sound before the deferred 5-min test message, but as it opens windows, I dismissed it and am now waiting for our test alarm to ring again. Now sitting in this window waiting for the alarm. Alarm copy was for some reason one minute late in firing but no window focus change was noted. I've most often observed this phenomenon while writing an email in Eudora when an alarm goes off, and Eudora is not the culprit because I observed the phenomenon once while Eudora wasn't running. Guess we'll have to chalk this one up to some strange interaction. I just realized that I re-used my test alarm rather than creating one from scratch. That shouldn't make a difference, should it? I've created another test alarm from scratch using your guidelines, but now the system is back to its usual running state. I had a program called Editor2, a Notepad clone, opened in the background, and when the newly-created test message appeared, the Editor window was pulled from behind Eudora. I guess there are so many interactions between PPro and other running programs that produce windows, it may prove difficult to find out if there is one single program causing this. I'll play more when I have time, but I won't bother you again. Cheers, Tom Attention: PowerPro's Web site has moved: http://www.ppro.org Yahoo!
