Hi Jim. Does it look anything like this: http://www2.deakin.edu.au/studio/screen.jpg
This is what my 5300cs did a while ago, and I had to get the board replaced. Like you, I could view the screen on an external monitor. Has your 'book been through the REA program? You might get lucky :) cheer ian >I have been given a Powerbook 5300cs with a problem. The screen sometimes is >fine, but mostly there are big blocks or stripes or other gargage all over >the screen. None of this shows up on an external monitor. Two questions > >1. Is it the screen itself or something that drives just the screen? > >2. If it is the screen, how difficult is it to replace it?
