I think I was the one that posted the original question on this topic...

out of frustration I bought a Skyline card (now Proxim)...at of all places,
Gateway computer on the web, (I know, how anti-apple) had it the
cheapest...$102...no shipping charge...
Bottomline...it has been flawless from start......I also had the vs 6
drivers a while back, and still no luck on a 1400, though it worked fine on
my 2400...
