I came across a PM 4400 that was very slow, we did a big  lowlevel 
format and a clean install, I also installed FINDER FIXER set it at 
maximum and set the diskcache to it's maximum aswell. (I know that 
without that my PM 7300 will be quite sluggish)
How long ago was it since you did defrag ? speed disk?
How much ram ? (I am sure it was in the original message - but I 
mixed several questions up in here - so I am not sure exactly)?
