But I would like to know of a base station that works with a iMac that is not
an Airport, if someone would like to recommend some. We have 802.11b only.

Dan in AZ

I am running a Belkin 802.11b wireless router/base station (F5D6231-4) with my Rev. A iMac (connected via Ethernet) and PB5300cs (using the Skyline card I originally posted about), all connected to my SpeedStream DSL modem. Micro Center has it available through August 31(in store and on-line order) for $20 after $20 instant rebate and $40 mail-in rebate.

It's completely configurable through a browser, and it comes with Mac instructions (although it has no Mac Easy Setup software - not much of a limitation). And, according to the manual, it supports AppleTalk (which I understand several products out there do not).
