Here are the results of last night's 3400c overclocking event:

50mhz Bus (300mhz Processor): Chimes but does nothing more as far as booting is concerned. No picture on screen, no hard drive spooling.

48mhz Bus (288mhz Processor): Chimes, boots, and runs just long enough to produce tantalizing Speedometer scores before crashing and not rebooting successfully (random errors during extension load that change every time I try to force reboot, before finally not booting altogether - always chimes though).

45.7mhz Bus (274mhz Processor): Chimes, boots, but has same errors as above.

44mhz Bus (264mhz Processor): Chimes, boots, and everything seems to be fine. No crashes (yet). Speedometer results show that almost everything CPU related is a hair over 10% faster.

So there it is. I now have a 264mhz PowerBook 3400c with 44mhz bus. I'm thinking I may try a 45mhz crystal to see if that works, but I don't have one on me. That's some time in the future.
