As a further note...

The 40gb IBM Travelstar that I had in my 3400c shared none of the problems of the faster and more expensive Seagate drive.

Thanks for the heads-up Dan, I was considering putting a 30GB in mine but I'll stick my 10GB in it instead I think. Maybe I'll invest in a 30GB for my pocket drive instead.


Anyone know if it's easy to adapt the drive cradle of the 3400c to take a 9mm drive? They use a different screw fitting pattern to 12mm drives and i want the ting to stay still when i'm carrying the 'book about.
