ISTM that Wallstreet is holding value very well, considering its age; though it is not as attractive as the Pismo (for example). That is probably due to the form factor, which is still reasonably "modern" (thin and larger screen, at least in relation to the form factor)--the biggest issue with the WS seems to be the dead-end of its design.
But, all of the Powerbooks seem to be losing serious value, now almost as fast as PC notebooks (which are, of course, a dime/dozen--if only because of market glut). 2nd generation iBooks and even the early Ti-Books are dropping to very attractive prices. The Pismo is a very attractive option, especially with available CPU upgrades up to 1 GHz--who would have ever thought that would be preferable to just buying a new 'book?? If you can pick up a Pismo for under $500 and put another $500 into RAM/CPU/HD upgrades, you've got a great and very current machine that should last for awhile. My Pismo 400/Firewire runs 10.2.8.x like a champ--and classic applications (eg. MS Office) are surprising fast and never crash (WAY more than I can say for MS Office 2000 on my work PC, running XP--what a dog, very frustrating). rb -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
