PB 520c connectivity

I've got 2 520c and I need to get one connected to my g4 iMac to do 
data transfer.

I want to do so via the ethernet connections, but how do I set it up? 
I've got the e-net cable and transceiver. Do I need a modem/router 
between them? Also, how do I set up the 520 to browse the internet via 
ethernet?
