When my 17 year old grandson could not repair his iPod online with HP and they would not replace it, he asked me to intercede. HP refused to assist me as I am using a Mac and the accompanying software to the iPod is PC.
Hmm. How long ago did you purchase the iPods? You should be able to return a defective one within a year to HP. Pretty sure it's got a standard 1 year warranty. The police report business is troubling. Good luck, I've had none dealing with theft so far.
