On the mailer front, I've always used Eudora, never had a Eudora problem.
Mind you, I've paid for it.
Personally, I find using Browser-style progs for mail an ugly thing to do.
Eudora's not perfect, I'll grant you. It's way kludgey doing large
lists, and the incomprehensible "MoodWatch" feature
is...uh...incomprehensible, but that's all I can think of.
Guess I'm used to it!

the online mail handlers are always getting in the way of quickly
looking at the mail.
Horizontal scrolling and inappropriate control responses being a real pain.
