Probably not.

Especially not on a "slow" device such as a 600e CD-ROM.

Most PowerBooks do not provide terminator power, anyway, so even if you 
did place a terminator in the second connector, it wouldn't do a darn 
think unless the drive internal to that case was also specifically 
jumpered to provide terminator power TO the bus.

Usually, devices are jumpered to accept terminator power FROM the bus, or 
they are jumpered to provide terminator power to themselves only.

Options, options, options ... and only one of them right!
