Well unless he isn't using at least OT 1.1.2 I don't see what could
possibly be wrong. I've hard of lots of people using those
TrueMobile cards.
Perhaps a faulty card? You should not have to manually install
anything.

We recently had a discussion here that the drivers listed on
VersionTracker are zipped, not stuffed, and thus fail to work
correctly when expanded (since zip archives don't preserve a Mac
file's resource fork).
