It sounds as if a pointer had what it was pointing at moved without getting
updated. It may take reinstalling to solve. If you reinstall, do the
overwrite option to keep all your current stuff intact. First copy out the
system folder and rename it. After the reinstall, add back the extensions,
preferences for apps, and other files in the same location where they
previously were.
