SCSI termination is usually at the motherboard internally (id 7). A
physical terminator should be at the other end of the entire chain,
after the last unit. IDs do not need to be in any kind of order on
the chain. System profiler may not show the scanner yet it still may
function with the correct software. System profiler may not show the
cd media if it is not formatted or mounted properly (driver). You
did not mention if the cdrw was internal or external, and other
devices on the chain. Some version of PTP and Apple have 2 SCSI
busses, an internal and an external. If you have both, there should
be two 50pin connectors on the motherboard.

RE: PTP 225. Is there supposed to be a terminator on the SCSI plug
#1 on the motherboard? I've got a Scanner at ID 6 which it does not
recognize and a CD-RW at ID 5. The CD-RW shows up on Apple Profiler
but the media (CD disk) doesn't.
The scanner doesn't show up on Apple Profiler ...
