At Davis-Besse only single door SAMs are used. When workers monitor personal items and no alarm is received, they may remove the material and place it on a table setup adjacent to the boundary. They would monitor additional personal items and handle in the same fashion until finished. They then monitor themselves in a PCM and when finshed, step across the boundary outside the RCA. They then can retrieve their personal items from the table.

When a worker is alone exiting the RCA and has more personnel materials (gloves, procedure, pens, clipboard) that can be placed into the SAM for a single counting sequence. What is your expectation of the worker for monitoring/removing this personal materials? 3. (Follow up question for #2) Would it acceptable for the individual to remove the cleared material from the SAM and then reach across the boundary to place it on the uncontrolled side of the boundary? 4. The same question applies to areas where there is a single door SAM. Dou you require any compensatory actions for the individual and/or RP Tech to monitor the hand they use to move the ?cleared? material across the RCA boundary to the Non-RCA side?
