Wolf Creek is requesting information for the following questions:

What type of radiation survey software does your site use? VISIO software,
it is an in-house developed survey database.

Do you train contract personnel to use this software? No

Is your radiation survey software required for all surveys performed, or do
you allow special circumstances to write them by hand? (Excluding the
obvious, computer system down) During normal plant operating conditions all
surveys are documented electronically. During outages the mandatory
requirement for electronic documentation is waived for contract personnel.
Depending on the individual’s computer skills, some contractors adapt
quickly to our electronic survey maps and are encouraged to document their
surveys electronically. It all depends on the individuals comfort level.

Are your surveys available for all site personnel to view once the survey
is complete? Yes, they are used by our planners, engineers, craft
supervisors, project managers ect…, as an aid to our work planning process.

Please state any future plans you might have regarding survey software
changes or updates. We are currently evaluating a vendor supplied software
package. Our VISIO in-house program is susceptible to changes in our IT
software support. We originally started with a Corel Draw program that was
discontinued which required us to switch to the VISIO program.
