Duke Energy is similar to Diablo Canyon. We would re-evaluate for any major
component replacement/modification that would impact the neutron spectrum or
for a change in dosimetry type. Generally, our neutron exposure in containment
is minimal compared to neutron exposure during dry cask storage campaigns and
work in/around ISFSIs (determined from RWP data and TLD results). Therefore,
these are the neutrons we are most concerned with. All 3 of our stations’
ISFSIs have been re-evaluated within the last 5 years, but we will likely
expand the scope to other areas due to ANI Bulletin 11-02.

Subject: Powernet: RE: Quick Neutron Spectrum Re-Assessment Question

Hi All,

Diablo Canyon recently conducted a full neutron spectrum re-assessment as a
result of our reactor head replacements and the associated changes in the
neutron shield package.

We have not done a power uprate. However, our design change process has that
type of contingency in the evaluation process.

Subject: Powernet: Quick Neutron Spectrum Re-Assessment Question

Millstone Power Station has a quick question regarding neutron spectrum
re-assessments.

1) Has your station conducted a full neutron spectrum re-assessment as a
result of any power up rates?

2) And a brief explanation on your decision.

Thank you in advance for your responses!
