North Anna's reply for Thermo Scientific iPCM12s:

Position the source(s) on the center of the detector zone as follows:
* Contact on all detectors for Alpha
* 1" for all detectors (except foot) for Beta (we use 3" for the PCM-1Bs and
1" for PCM-2s)
* Contact for foot detector for Beta

Tc-99 0.2 to 0.3 uCi and Am-241 .02 to .03 uCi

Subject: Powernet: Calibration of PCMs

Hello all,
Davis Besse would appreciate answers to the following questions regarding
personnel contamination monitors:

1. At what distance from the detector do you calibrate your PCMs? (contact,
1 inch, 3 inches)

2. What isotope and activity source do you use for calibration?

Thank you in advance!
