I think the issue is more of the content than the color. We created a
trip ticket after a "he said/she said" event where a worker said they
thought they got an HRA brief when they got a briefing by the RP Tech,
but the tech did not give an HRA brief. We created the physical barrier
of the trip ticket to clear up any communication differences.

They write down the location they want to go and we have a specific
portion whether they have to circle Yes/No for whether they are going to
enter an HRA and the name of the RP Tech that gave the formal HRA
briefing. We didn't want them to try to tell the diff between a
briefing at the desk and an HRA brief and approval to enter the area.
We told the contractors if you walk away from the desk without your
movie ticket filled out, then you clearly aren't authorized to enter the
HRA. We tried to make it simple for the least experienced radworker.

We issue HRA keys to radworkers and LHRA keys to RP techs only. If a
radworker wants to enter an LHRA, they would show the door guard their
trip ticket as a hard verification.

Subject: Powernet: Use of Trip Tickets for Worker RCA Entry

Duke Energy would appreciate any information utilities can provide on
the following:

IF you use "trip tickets" to brief rad workers on radiological
conditions in the RCA, do you use more than one (perhaps color coded) to
address specific conditions (e.g., entry to HRA v. RA).

Thanks in advance for your time and response.

Bob
