Yes, it is still alive, but with the ending of various contracts at SunLabs,
manpower is at a minimum so any help the community could provide would be
appreciated.
Guy Shaw does continue work fpr a week or two longer at Sun Labs, and he's
making substantial and steady progress of late. We're currently in the guts of
libc running init, which isn't quite a shell prompt but isn't unreachably far
from one, either.
For the sake of progress, we've decided to continue towards reaching a prompt
on
the ODWs as once we get over that hurdle it's much easier to try and reach the
same point on other hardware or on emulated systems.
I've written a PowerPC disassembler as part of the work that needs to be done
to
get kmdb to work on PPC, which, once functional, will should help make it
easier
to progress in the future.
Tom Riddle is still active in the project as a contributor external to Sun as
is
Brian Horn, and I assume Guy Shaw will also continue on a time available basis
once his Sun Labs contract ends.
But the bottom line is we need the community to step up and help out as much as
possible if the project is to survive and thrive.
