After a busy week, I finally got around to buying some Arctic Silver 5 to use
on my new Dell system that fails the Prime95 torture test. I plan to start by
using it on the heat sink that came with the system, but I'm a little
apprehensive. The AS5 instructions point out that a processor can damage itself
very quickly if it doesn't have proper cooling. How much of a risk am I taking
by doing this? Are there any hidden snags that could leave me with a dead chip
that I'll have to pay for myself? And can anyone recommend some good online
guides for this sort of task?

Thanks for your time.
