I don't have FLASH, but these purport to show it being done. Perhaps
another can view and comment...

The arctic silver website has a good text description.

Really, it isn't hard. You thoroughly clean the processor
and the heatsink. Rubbing alcohol does a pretty good job.

You place a small blob on the processor, near the center,
and holding the heatsink parallel to the processor, bring
it down on the processor slowly, and gradually squeeze the
blob down flat, so it excludes all air. Don't press much,
just use the heatsink hold downs to apply the needed pressure
after contact is made. Some like to twist slightly back
and forth while bringing the surfaces into contact. I haven't
noticed that it helps.

Some like to run a line on one edge of the processor, and
place the heatsink on that edge, and then bring it down
slowly, like closing a hinge, and press the line along gradually
in a similar manner, until the heatsink is in full contact,
and then use the hold downs to apply final pressure.

The main thing is light pressure gradually applied so as
to exclude air. The pressure must gradually increase, and
not ever decrease. If it decreases, the surfaces may separate
slightly again, and air get into it.

Clean your hands after the procedure. Some thermal greases
are not nice to get on your hands and especially not in
your mouth. The white ones are usually ZnO in a silicone base,
and the more expensive ones include some other metallic or
intermetallic compounds, like Ag. I'm not convinced that the
$32 a spot stuff does a significantly better job than the
$2 a tube stuff. Mostly, you need to exclude air and get
good contact.
