AKA Murphy's law, as often stated in the form: you wait ages for a bus

ObMersenne: What I haven't yet seen, and am too lazy (the politically
correct version is "too busy on matters of higher priority") to perform
is to see how well the historical discovery of Mersenne primes matches a
Poisson distribution.
