I've copied a table provided by the v5server, where is no info about
distribution.
One Linux (on Intel PIII) is Fedora 7. It is an old comp and I'm not
going to upgrade it. The libcurl.so.3 has been found in distributions of
the OpenOffice (2.3 or 2.4) and the Adobe Reader (8 or 9).
Other Linux machines work in a grid (the Central European one) with
Sci Linux CERN SLC rel. 4.6/4.7 (Beryllium).
32-bit comps (PIII, Xeon) work w/o problems, i.e. mprime has found
libcurl.so.3.
The last three, Dual Core AMD Opterons, are 64-bit comps with
libcurl.so.3 in the /usr/lib64 directory.
