One sometimes hears this argument in similar wording describing the 
relationship between an individual and 'the government'. I believe it is 
a mistake. Gimps is a community, just like society as a whole. It is not 
'you vs the society' or 'you vs this community' and it can never be. It 
is 'you as part of the society'. And yes, some things are ugly and need 
to be replaced by nicer things. Let's not waste too many resources any 
further arguing over what should have been done. Let's spent our 
precious efforts on getting things done and complete the transition.
