Actually that's not true. SSDs have a limited life time (for every 
cell around 100.000 write cycles). Of course the controller can 
optimize that but it's certainly not as much as needed for a server 
which is writing all the time.

SSDs are only interesting to install the main OS on it. For data it's 
not that secure.

As far as I see the speed isn't that relevant - with a RAID and normal 
drives it will work out fine (the server doesn't need to be 'real time).
