Hello Norm, thanks for your support.
Actually, I found that PS and PDF documents are correctly printed, whereas that
is not the case for ASCII or RAW documents. For ex., printing a text document
via gedit (both using the PAPI queue and the Generic_Postscript with custom
settings to: lpr -P<printer_queue>) results in printing the POSTSCRIPT code
instead of the document. This also happens when a print request is made with
firefox. In these (wrong) cases, it results that the printing subsystems runs
a2ps to convert an ASCII file to a POSTSCRIPT one (see: /etc/lp/logs/requests)
. If I run a2ps from a command shell and then print its output with ps, then
things work. Thus, I suppose there is something wrong in the management of the
pipelining of a2ps and lp.
It is important to stress out that these problems occur both with local and
network printers.

On the basis of the above, do you think that your workaround is still
appropriate?
If yes, what I should do in order to modify the queue? What file should I edit?
And, in which build will this bug be removed?

Thanks again/g.s
