Should we not create a OpenSolaris Project to get this project going?
One main objectives is to allow the various applications developers to
be informed and involved if needed to.

I do not imply both will be running at the same time. I think this is
necessary so
that it can be made easier to use.

CUPS
packages and build the CUPS backend for gtk+

we will get the PAPI backend for Firefox/T-bird for free.
