[PRODIG] embed profiles in cmyk files?

Some time ago there was a discussion on another list between 2 colour 
pros, Dan Margulis and Andrew Rodney about whether or not CMYK profiles 
should be embedded into files. Dan was saying no, Andrew yes. The 
discussion ended in a stalemate of sorts but I felt that the answer was 
yes. Anybody got a stance on this as it would be nice to have a 
definite conclusion.
