Dear listees I want to get my Epson 1290 printer calibrated. I've asked about this before and been directed to Neil Barstow. I've taken my time to getting round to this, as I was waiting to sort the monitor out first. That's done, I got an Eye One Display BTW, which I'm happy with (though I don't seem to get the speediest of delivery in Spain whatever it is I'm ordering!), although I haven't cracked how to use the advanced mode yet. :- )
Having done a google search I have come across PrintFix... http://www.typemaker.co.uk/products/cv_printfix.html It looks great in that it gives a lot more freedom in that you can make profiles yourself, for as many different papers / ink combinations as you may desire. This appeals to me as it seems rather restictive (not to mention expensive) to get a profile made for one combination of ink/paper as would seem to be the other option. And I have a feeling that if I took that route I'd probably end up wanting to have another profile done a little bit later with different papers and even ink. I just haven't have the money for that (or patience :-) ) So.. I wondered if anyone has any experience with this and might recommend it? If not any other advice would be gratefully appreciated. Many thanks in advance, from sunny Toledo Christina (P.S. PC platform, Windows ME and Black and white quality prints are the most important for me) __________________________________________________ It's Samaritans' Week. Help Samaritans help others.
