So you've discovered that downloading via USB is slow ? Is this news ?

Please, please, please, the "pro" part of the prodig list surely has
something to do with professional ?

If you are a professional, then please go and buy a firewire card reader, or
at the very minimum a PC Card adaptor for your laptop. Nobody in their right
mind uses USB to transfer images, unless your firewire card reader just died
on you.

I perfectly understand that we all have to learn, but this is such an old
topic of conversation that has been covered on every digital imaging website
out there. The only people who should be using a direct download via the
cameras in built USB connection are amateurs or still lifers (who don't need
the speed), everyone else should buy something faster. A firewire card
reader, here is an example of one, there are others.

PS - sorry to be so hard, I know we all have to start somewhere, but using
an Ixus400 as a card reader? That has to take the biscuit.

PPS - the Ixus400 is a fine camera BTW. I love mine, but would not have
dreamed of using it for downloading images. Perhaps I've been missing one of
its tricks :-)
