Hi fellows.

Just yesterday or the day before the discussion about the Ekta Space or Joe
Space was brought and the original link to Joseph's site for a downloadable
profile and the pdf readme file was diplayed.

I had the profile, but not the reading reference so I got it. I took the
time to read the rather heavy info on the pdf, and to my surprise I read a
clearly defined statement from Joe, stating that we can let go some dose
of Gamut Warning alert pass through and we will still have a fine printable
file, and he even mentions that this can be used to push some contrast and
color saturation and there will still be no major printing problems.

One more time, I never talk about Epson Printing.

Now my question to those of you that know much better than I do.

How much Gamut Warning can we let go without problem??Is there any way to
measure it??

I am really interested in getting this guidance, since ,as you might
remember, I've been shooting Artwork for a client of mine , in large amounts
( 150 -200 paintings each time) and it turns out to be that the files which
have shown "mentionable" Gamut Warnings when viewed in proof set up,and
which I have "corrected" for no warning at all, have actually shown a
visible lack of contrast or "punch" in the printed catalogs.

The correlation between contrast and Gamut Warning is more sensitive than I
expected ( I always thought it was almost only color-dependent) but slight
changes in any tool in PS, (levels, curves, you name it) may create the
presence or absence of a warning,at least in paintings.

Any advice on this will be apprciated, since this opens up both a can of
worms and some additional possibilities I had not previously considered, just
for remaning "safe" , working by the book..

THX!!!.
