One dirty solution is to boot in OS9 and attempt to mount the disk using scsi probe or similar (being a mac (fickle and with an unpredictable mind of its own - the fact of having got it to boot once could mean that it will then work in OSX)
- or try to repair the disk with Norton or similar while in OS9 ..I would try fsck from the prom boot monitor (pre boot)in OSX *first though and see if that recognizes and repairs it Norton under OSX (so far as I can see) will take any perfectly functioning disk, label it as damaged and make sure that description is permanent There are a bunch of command line Unix utilities for mounting disks but it requires learning too much to use those (for most of us) Philip Why won't my LaCie External Hard Drive mount on my desktop? Disc Utility will 'recognise' the LaCie External Hard Drive, Verify, and Repair it (no problems showing). I ran Nortons 7 on the Lacie and found a number of Major problems in Catalogue B tree. =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
