A colleague of mine is updating his ancient Mac equipment and has asked me
whether the difference in expense of the Nikon LS 4000 scanner is worth it.
(He has always used Nikon cameras and scanners) He is mainly scanning his
archive of colour trannies (not kodachrome) and has asked me to ask
prodiggers for their comments.

I have already persuaded him that Vuescan will bring out the best in either
scanner, and he knows about the slow speed of both scanners if scanning full
frame, 50Mb, 16 bit files with ICE turned on.

If anyone has any experience, good or bad, with either scanners when
scanning transparency film, could they please let me know? Either on list or
off-list to me at simon(at)grosset.co.uk and I will pass your comments on.

Thanks for your help

Simon
