Paul... I tried the PS-CS raw utility with my S2 photos and at first I thought that it was giving me less... uhhh... what's the word I'm looking for... "room to stretch" in my 16 bit photos. I seemed to get noise faster than I was expecting. So I tried one file with a side-by-side comparison and frankly I couldn't see any difference. The only thing I didn't like about PS-CS is that it doesn't give me all of the Fuji's canned flourescent light filters (which I find very convenient). Other than that, the PS-CS raw utility is extremely convenient. What exactly did you find to be inferior with the PS-CS utility? I'll have to try a few more comparisons. I am basing this on a comparison of one RAW file only.
