Hi For OSX users open the terminal and type: man ftp
--press the space bar to page through the document Looking through the unix command line version of FTP (which is 'built in') will show some of the capabilities that you get with FTP. As ever, far more than you probably wanted to know ... of course, I've not actually used the command line version this century :-) More info on enabling FTP sharing access under OSX is at <http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=2004040118235254> One other thing I should add, is that if you do open up your own ftp server to the world, make sure you have accounts properly set up. I have an FTP image server (OSX) and test web server (OSX) open to the internet which regularly get people trying to break in to them (with well known Windows cracks :-) :-). bye for now Keith Cooper Northlight Images http://northlight-images.co.uk Photography - Digital Imaging - Apple Mac Consultancy Tel +44 (0)116 291 9092 Mobile +44 (0)780 162 9397 =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
