Hi As the original poster of this thread, thanks Thomas and Tony, and also Bob and Shangara for all your input on this problem. Neil Barstow has also suggested to me that I could look at the internal name inside the profile. Can someone point me at how to do this. ColorThink maybe, or GM ProfileMaker must do it? I had already tried several things to resolve it, including close/reopen PShop and rebooting. An earlier version of the profile (with a different filename) persisted in the profiles folder list when accessed through Proof Setup/Custom, even when deleted from the profiles folder (Windows/System32.......Drivers/Color). Before deleting this original profile, I had loaded the new version of the profile having given it a different name, so for a while there were two in there, before I deleted the first. Since its a 3hr return trip to the client, it's difficult to try solutions, but I can try to test the Print Preview suggestion made over the phone, so thanks for that. One of the problems of this work can be the state of a client's system - maybe the XP installation needs an overhaul or update. Another possibility that occurred to me was that the first proof setup was in fact now referring to the second version of the profile, even though the Proof Setup/Custom list wouldn't show the new filename. With hindsight I should have tried printing with it while I was there. Thanks everyone Tony Riley (Kendal - by the way I went to a family wedding in Cheltenham recently, and they all congratulated me on getting so well known down south for colour management work!). www.photosightdesign.co.uk www.sharpedgegallery.co.uk =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
