Why ironic? The Wifi improvements are one of the new features of the SP2 update, along with Bluetooth capability built-in.

Ironically since SP2 was added my Wifi connection has improved tremendously. Admittedly I am not using a router but the adhoc system with two wifi cards, but before SP2 I often had to fiddle around with the settings on both machines in order to get a connection now, 90% of the time it connects straight away.
