check to see if you have acr plugin 2.1 as the old one did not recognize kodak slrn raw files

It sounds like you have Kodaks File Format Module (FFM) installed. This is a Photoshop plug-in that will open various files from various Kodak DSLRs directly into Photoshop. If you have that installed it will be the default method of opening files instead of ACR. Several options: You can remove the Kodak plug in altogether. Or you can do an Open As and select Camera Raw as the type of image to force ACR to open the file. Or you can move the Kodak plug-in to a different folder. Then use the Photoshop prefs for plug-ins to activate that additional plug-in folder whenever you want to use it, deactivate when you want ACR to take over.
