Try the following
Open Terminal (in the Utilities folder)
Type
cd /Volumes/ (this changes directory to the Volumes directory)

ls -af (this lists all files and folders whether invisible or not)
There does seem to be a glitch in C1 Pro which sometimes allows it to make folders and to save capture files into the normally INVISIBLE Volumes folder.
This happened to me recently, and I had a hairy time like Matthew Ward wondering where all my files had gone.
Richard Earney's method of finding and moving the lost files will certainly work, but I found Tinker Tool much quicker and easier:

You can use it to temporarily turn ALL your invisible hidden and system files visible. Then you can see the missing files in the Volumes folder, and drag-and-drop them to a sensible place.
