I've got Nikon Capture Editor. The point I'm making is that it is very difficult to match the *simplest* of Nikon's conversions using Camera RAW. I could easily use Camera Raw to produce an image that would print better than the result I got from Nikon Editor, but I want to know how Nikon achieve such a high degree of contrast and sharpness without enhancing noise? And rich colour in fine detail without Mickey Mouse saturation in flatter colour areas like skies? Shouldn't Camera Raw give a *similarish* result using "Camera Defaults"? I wasn't expecting accurate colour, but I didn't expect such a big discrepancy in luminosity. The results are way too flat - and Photoshop's contrast slider set to +100 still isn't enough to match it :-( -- Martin Orpen Idea Digital Imaging Ltd -- The Image Specialists http://www.idea-digital.com =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
