When you blow an image up way beyond what it was designed for, say 2m panels from a 35mm neg, when viewed close up, you do get a rather more interesting effect than blowing up a digital file beyond its capabilities (non arty, non grainy mush). It just goes soft when it runs out of information, with film, at least the grains are fairly sharp. Roll on capture with random pixelled backs, I say.
There are plenty ( of us! ) out here who gave up on 10x8 transparency a long time ago.
Yes but I do miss the visual effect of a masked down 10x8 tranny in a darkened studio. Don't miss much else though. Nostalgia is not really kicking in, honest.
