When you blow an image up way beyond what it was designed for, say 2m panels from a 35mm neg, when viewed close up, you do get a rather more interesting effect than blowing up a digital file beyond its capabilities (non arty, non grainy mush). It just goes soft when it runs out of information, with film, at least the grains are fairly sharp. Roll on capture with random pixelled backs, I say.
Hi Matthew,
If you like the grain , why not put it in , a short and painless process ?

Nice concept . That's why we use random grain instead of noise.
Don't miss much else though.
What about that great pile of boxes of spare sheets of film , 10x8 polaroid machines , the 5 magenta wander on processing , the hugely impressive (or was that just huge ) view camera.......
Nostalgia is not really kicking in, honest.
Don't know about you , but I'm getting tears in my eyes just thinking about film .Well you have to have a laugh now and then , don't you ?
Kindest,
Bob.
