First of, thanks to all who replied so helpfully to my
recent question regarding D100 and A2 images.

I'm currently working on an image for a CD cover - the
singer is lying on a bed and behind her I used a
gelled up flash to simulate the glow of a bedside lamp
- this gradually fades away to near black by the top
corners of the image.

The problem I am having is that on screen this all
looks fine - but when I come to print on my 1290, I
see distinct arched areas of banding. As the orange
glow (the wall is orange as well, so as you can
imagine, there is a lot of orange going on!) fades
there are increasingly large 'rainbow' bands emenating
out to the edge of the image. Its as though the
printer cannot cope with the graduation of colour, but
as I've not had this problem before, I wondered if
anyone had any ideas, and importantly, how to be sure
this isn't repeated at repro stage?

I have tried using lens blur to loose any hard to see
problems in the background, but this doesn't make any
difference.
The image was shot in RAW on the D100, ISO 200

It's probably worth mentioning that although my screen
is correctly calibrated using an eye one monitor, the
printer is still using Ilford's website profile to go
with the smooth pearl paper I am using. If this is the
reason for the problem, I apologise in advance for
asking, and as planned, will go ahead with new
profiles ASAP!

Thanks for your help
Andrew
