I too have very similar problems with 2 Epson 1290 machines!

I installed a Lyson CIS system that worked very well, after replacing
some of the 125ml inks including the Yellow I started getting problems
with the Yellow (rests of the colours were OK). Main problem was with
yellow 'fringes' on prints, nozzle checks showed an EXTREME case of the
'Minor Deflections' problem described on -
http://www.mwords.co.uk/pages/printers/printersAnalyseNozzle.htm
After tearing out half my hair I took the machine to 'The Printerman'
who advised me that it had to be a manufacturing fault and the best
thing would be to buy a new one!

I did exactly that, transferring the CIS to the new machine and putting
Epson cartridges back in the old one. Simply following the MWORDS web
site advice my old machine is back in use and prints perfectly with the
Epson Carts.

HOWEVER the new machine has major problems with the (LYSON) YELLOW it
started with exactly the problem described by Tim and has included some
nozzles showing the deflection and now following cleaning cycles most
yellow nozzles are blocked.

My inclination is to blame the batch of Lyson Yellow (batch 3110714 -
G/CISFY/LYS/125) because it is the only common factor - the CIS passed
over 100ml of Yellow ink (batch 3080714) without any problems.

Any other ideas please anyone? Nij is it possible to flush all the
yellow ink out of a Lyson CIS?
