I checked these out awhile ago in a branch of Curry's and although they worked fine from the AV out socket, even the most expensive Casio models had really crap stills resolution, not even near good enough to check focus. I do a lot of very low down shots and wanted an off-camera monitor to save grovelling in the mud. There must be a market for such a device and with the cost of LCD screens plummeting not an expensive option.
If anyone hears of such a thing please let us know.
